Training dogs for a peaceful walk is at times challenging, especially the big and aggressive dogs. Most dogs are either hyper active or get aggressive when they see other dogs or strangers. Even training for police dogs the obedience test verifies if the dog walks along with the owner in a relaxed mode.
I have segregated some key tips in training for dogs walking, some with experience and some by knowledge sharing of the experts.
Tips on dog’s training
Walk your dog
Dogs usually work in packs and they like following the leader, so first you have to show your dog who is the leader. Never let your dog walk you and make him feel like the alpha dog. Instead a proper dog’s training is done by showing you are the alpha and not him.
Short dog leash
This tip was strange for me too, but when I implemented this I realized I had more control on my dog. With short leash you can communicate with your dog more easily.
Schedule for the walk
Always schedule a time for the walk. Make time for your dog and he will be happy and will realize eventually being a good dog would help. Walking along with your dog is one of those bonding moments and a key part of dogs training. You can also play a game of fetch for a more bonding moment when you are out on a walk.

How training dogs – Rewarding the dog
Dogs like to be rewarded when they do something good. That is what motivates them to keep doing the good thing. Initially you can start with treats and gradually you can reduce the treats and replace them with words like “Good dog”. Once your dog has behaved well then once you are back home you can reward your dog for the good behavior. This is one of the most important part and how training dogs are done
If you know any other tips which you have felt I would have missed, do drop in the comments and I will add them accordingly.
